Melania Trump’s Easter Appearance in White Outfit Gets Everyone Talking

Making an appearance beside President Trump, the First Lady helped kick off the Easter Egg Roll in Washington — but it wasn’t just her presence that set social media ablaze as her outfit left netizens divided.

Melania Trump, who divides her time between Washington, New York, and Mar-a-Lago, made a rare public appearance on Monday at President Donald Trump’s traditional Easter Egg Roll on the White House’s South Lawn.

The 54-year-old First Lady stood beside her husband to welcome families to the annual post-Easter celebration. She was all smiles as she mingled with children at various activity stations. However, her outfit quickly became the day’s most talked-about moment.

Though known for her fondness for hats, she opted against an Easter bonnet this year. Instead, she chose a striking leather trench coat by Montreal-based brand Mackage. Complete with epaulets and a high collar, the coat made a bold fashion statement — in keeping with her long-standing approach to style.

“OMG, not a trench coat,” one person wrote. “Wasn’t it like 80 degrees yesterday?” another asked. Still, others were captivated, as another netizen commented, “That’s a leather coat? It’s gorgeous.” One fan added, “The coat is gorgeous and falls beautifully. Didn’t even realize at first that it was leather.”

Over the years, Melania has crafted a visual identity that often speaks louder than words. Her outerwear, in particular, has played a key role in her public image, from understated elegance to highly symbolic choices.

Monday’s ensemble continued that tradition — sparking debate, admiration, and plenty of online speculation. Later in the day, she joined President Trump to blow whistles, signaling the start of the egg-rolling competition.

She also read “Bunny with a Big Heart” by Marilyn Sadler to a group of children in the reading corner. The event featured a wide range of family-friendly activities, including cookie decorating, egg painting, flower arranging, hopscotch, and a station where children wrote greeting cards for members of the military.

Live music filled the air throughout the day, with performances by military bands and a guest appearance from young singer Go with YoYo.

The First Lady reflected on the festivities on X in part, “Today’s Easter Egg Roll was filled with family, joy, and tradition — a beautiful reminder that when we come together with open hearts, love and harmony truly shine.”

This is not the first time Melania’s choice of attire has had people talking. With her signature poise and polished demeanor, the First Lady took the stage in a dramatic ensemble that effortlessly commanded attention during the International Women of Courage Award Ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 1, 2025.

Draped in a long, luxurious leopard-print coat, the FLOTUS exuded quiet opulence. The bold print, cinched with a matching belt, offered a commanding silhouette that stood out against the understated backdrop of the awards ceremony.

The garment — a standout from designer Milly Park’s recent fall collection — has been making waves in the fashion world for more than just its eye-catching aesthetic. According to Page Six, the piece carries a price tag of approximately $11,000.

Milly, a self-taught designer mentored by her grandmother, confirmed that the coat was one of three special pieces she sent to the FLOTUS as a gift in Mar-a-Lago late last year (2024).

The leopard-print calfskin coat was unveiled on the designer’s runway just weeks before the event (March) and showcases Park’s signature blend of fearless texture with elegant tailoring.

Produced primarily in New York under Park’s Palm Beach, Florida-based label, the coat represents both craftsmanship and confidence — qualities that aligned seamlessly with Melania’s appearance that day.

Interestingly, the designer of the coat, which fashion outlet WWD says costs between $11,000 and $12,000, was not aware the FLOTUS had donned her clothing item.

However, after learning of this and following the event, Milly took to Instagram to express her excitement and pride. The designer shared three photographs of Trump draped in the striking Cavallino coat, capturing the First Lady’s radiant presence.

In the accompanying caption, she penned, “Melania Trump Honors Women of Courage in MILLY PARK. Today @flotus @melaniatrump graced the stage at the International Women of Courage Award Ceremony wearing MILLY PARK Fall/Winter 2025 Nature’s Reverie, a tailor fitted [sic], long Cavallino leopard print calfskin leather coat.”

She went on to add, “I am truly honored to see our beautiful First Lady wearing Milly Park for such a meaningful occasion. Celebrating the strength and bravery of remarkable women around the world.”
