The Carter sisters stole all the attention as they joined their mother onstage during the first of her shows in Los Angeles, kicking off her Cowboy Carter tour.
Blue Ivy Carter, 13, and Rumi Carter, 7, joined their mother, Beyoncé, onstage during an electric performance of “PROTECTOR” from the singer’s latest album, “Cowboy Carter.”
The girls were dressed to the nines, with Blue front and center as she danced. Although Rumi didn’t join in on most of the choreography, she happily stayed close to her mom as the performance went on.
In clips shared online, Rumi waved excitedly at the cheering audience and sweetly embraced her mother, causing Beyoncé to chuckle, pause mid-song and return the gesture. Blue joined them before ushering her little sister backstage.
Fans couldn’t help but jokingly note Rumi’s enthusiasm during the show. “Rumi always extra😂,” one said. “Rumi brings tears to my eyes. Protect her at all costs!” another exclaimed.
Others couldn’t help but notice Blue’s striking resemblance to her mother, as one person observed, “Blue has her mothers whole face she’s definitely giving Beyoncé 2000.”
Another echoed the sentiment, saying, “Blue Ivy is so grown up 😭 how? She is the spitting image of her mom. A beautiful family.”
It’s not the first time the Carter siblings made headlines. Blue, being the eldest, is more accustomed to the spotlight compared to her younger brother, Sir, and her sister.
Rumi also makes public appearances now and then, but Sir? Not so much. In fact, this concerned fans earlier this year. Jay-Z had stepped out in style with Rumi and Blue at Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025.
They arrived at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, with the 55-year-old rapper and his daughters wearing matching black outfits as they entered the stadium.
Blue rocked a denim outfit, a leather jacket, and oversized sunglasses. Rumi sported a jacket with white stripes as she carried a small yellow handbag and wore a lanyard around her chest. Jay-Z kept it casual in a T-shirt, pants, beanie, and sunglasses.
Social media users quickly noticed the absence of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s son, Sir. One netizen asked, “What’s wrong with Sir?” Others defended the family’s privacy. “Some of y’all need to worry about your own family. You want to see their son so you can talk about him too?” one person wrote.
Another added, “It’s not family unless his son is with him. Why are they hiding the son?”
More online discussions centered around Sir’s absence, with some pointing out that Jay-Z never brings him to sporting events. Another questioned why he is rarely seen in public. A curious netizen asked, “Why is Sir always missing?! Where he be[sic]??” Someone else expressed the same sentiment, “Where is the boy. [sic]”
Some continued to speculate, noting that despite being Rumi’s twin, he is hardly photographed or seen attending outings with them. Meanwhile, others defended the family, recalling that Beyoncé had previously mentioned Sir dislikes large crowds, adding, “So there’s no need for her to expose him to yall [sic] nosey folks.”
Neither Beyoncé nor Jay-Z has addressed the speculation, leaving the reason for Sir’s absence unclear. However, Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, shared insight into her grandchildren’s personalities in May 2024, which may explain why Sir is less visible than his sisters.
“Sir is very quiet,” Tina said, adding that her grandson “does all of the numbers stuff, so he’s not into fashion as much.”
Meanwhile, Tina described Rumi as a highly creative child with a passion for fashion and painting, while she praised Blue for her intelligence, calling her “very, very smart.”
Sir’s sisters have already made their mark in different ways. Rumi became the youngest female artist to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 with her feature on Beyoncé’s song “Protector” from the album “Cowboy Carter,” breaking the record previously held by Blue Ivy for “Brown Skin Girl” in 2019.
While netizens saw Rumi at the Super Bowl, her older sister, Blue, has been drawing even more attention—most notably when she attended the 2025 Grammys with her mom and dad.
At the event, Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s eldest daughter’s choice of outfit sparked intense debates among fans.
Blue wore a stunning blue corset gown paired with a diamond necklace. As her mother won Best Country Album for “Cowboy Carter,” they shared a heartfelt hug.
Later, she proudly stood by Beyoncé’s side when the singer accepted her first Album of the Year award for “Cowboy Carter.” Fans had mixed reactions to Blue Ivy Carter’s dress. Some admired its elegance while others debated its age appropriateness.
