Latest Update Issued After Fox News Guest and Political Commentator Camryn Kinsey Faints on Air

A routine political segment on Fox News took an unexpected turn Thursday night—leaving viewers stunned and scrambling for answers.

Fox News viewers witnessed a startling moment Thursday night when political commentator Camryn Kinsey fainted during a live broadcast. The incident occurred during a segment of “Fox News @ Night” on May 8, while Kinsey was offering commentary on former President Joe Biden’s remarks about Kamala Harris’ 2024 election defeat.

In the middle of her sentence, Kinsey appeared to lose consciousness and slipped from her chair “This is about incompetency, it’s not about uh, uh, ideology,” she said then suddenly paused and collapsed. The moment left host Jonathan Hunt visibly shaken. “Oh my goodness,” he said. “We’re just going to get some help here for Camryn.”

Hunt tried to move the segment along but quickly opted to take the show to a commercial break instead. When the broadcast resumed, Hunt provided a reassuring update that Kinsey had regained consciousness and was receiving care.

Later on, Kinsey addressed the incident directly on social media. “Wow, sorry for the scare last night,” she wrote on X. “I want to start by thanking the incredible Fox News team and the EMTs who responded with such speed and care.”

Kinsey said the moment had caught her off guard, but credited the professionalism and kindness of those around her for her recovery. She also expressed gratitude to supporters who reached out after the broadcast. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support has meant the world.”

The dramatic moment quickly went viral, sparking a wave of reactions across social media. Many viewers expressed concern and well-wishes for Kinsey. “So scary!! Glad you’re ok!” one fan wrote. Another shared, “It’s most likely dehydration. Also, anxiety can do this. I’ve been to that point but never passed out. No shame, it happens to us.”

Some viewers had questions.”Hope all is well—that is definitely terrifying. Was it simply fainting?” one user asked. Others conveyed empathy despite not knowing Kinsey personally. “Happy you’re ok! It’s weird how you can be worried about someone you don’t even know! Take care. Hope to see you back on air soon.”

Supportive comments also carried a tone of encouragement. “Wild. Get back in the game & on air, we can’t have you on the bench—We’ve got a country to save!” read one message.

However, the incident also drew scrutiny on how the situation was handled on-air. Some viewers criticized the show’s host, Jonathan Hunt, for not offering more immediate assistance.

“It was scary to see. I wonder why the host on the show didn’t help you,” one fan wrote. Another echoed the sentiment: “Glad you’re okay, Camryn! But seriously, what’s up with the Fox News host just ignoring you collapsing like that? Don’t you think they should’ve jumped in to help instead of acting like nothing happened?”

In response to the public attention, a Fox News spokesperson issued a statement to People on Friday, May 9, that read, “After Fox News @ Night guest Camryn Kinsey fainted during a live on-air appearance last night in our Los Angeles bureau, paramedics were called and she was treated and cleared.”

The statement added that the network was glad to hear she was recovering well and wished her a speedy recovery. Kinsey’s on-air presence is backed by a strong academic and professional foundation in politics and national security.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Louisville, focusing on law, public policy, and political communication. Her academic path continued with a Master of Science in National Security and Homeland Security from Liberty University.

Beyond broadcasting, Kinsey is also active in the media and political strategy space. In July 2024, she launched her own firm, Titan Media Strategies, where she currently serves as Founder and CEO. The company focuses on media consulting, digital strategy, and political communications.

We previously reported that a similar incident occurred in April. A medical scare involving Dr. Mehmet Oz’s family member interrupted a White House ceremony, drawing attention away from the proceedings and prompting an immediate evacuation of reporters and attendees.

Dr. Mehmet Oz had just been sworn in as the administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on Friday, April 18, when his 11-year-old granddaughter, Philomena, reportedly fainted during the ceremony, abruptly halting remarks by President Donald Trump.

The event was held in the Oval Office and officiated by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Dr. Oz stood with family members, including his wife, Lisa, and children Daphne, Arabella, Zoe, and Oliver. Several grandchildren were also present, positioned on the other side of the Resolute Desk.

President Trump was delivering his remarks on Oz’s appointment when the incident occurred. In the course of his speech, Trump shifted to the topic of nuclear weapons and warned those in attendance that they would be in “great danger” if Iran became armed with a nuclear weapon.

During this moment, a commotion broke out in the room. Footage from the event shows journalists reacting as the situation unfolded. One of Oz’s daughters was heard saying, “Philo fainted, Philo fainted. Dad, go!” Oz walked over to check on his granddaughter before returning to Trump’s side.

White House aides quickly intervened and began ushering people out. “Everybody out!” one aide yelled. Another added, “Get out right now.” A third voice was heard instructing, “No photos.”

Although the video did not capture the moment of Philomena’s collapse, it did show Daphne and Oliver helping her out of the room. Philomena appeared to be ill as they exited. The footage then cuts off.

In a statement issued after the incident, a White House spokesperson confirmed, “We are happy to say she is okay.” Daphne Oz, known for her work as a television host, nutrition author, and judge on “MasterChef Junior” since Season 8, and her husband, John Jovanovic, are parents to four children: Philomena, Domenica, Giovanna, and a son. Philomena is the eldest.

Reaction to the incident quickly followed online, with many users criticizing Trump’s demeanor and perceived lack of concern during the medical emergency.

One Instagram user wrote, “All was all about trump , he didn’t care about the grand daughter. [sic]” Another added, “His face says how dare she take the attention from me! [sic]” A separate comment read, “He didn’t even ask what happened. SMH.”

Another commenter stated, “He’s probably mad the attention was turned away from him,” while another asked, “Why didn’t the grandfather doctor man help his little granddaughter. [sic]” Another user remarked, “They were more concerned about the press leaving than the child.”

The conversation about Dr. Oz’s reaction extended to Facebook, where one user commented, “Doesn’t look like he did anything but look.”

Another said, “He didn’t assess her [sic] he didn’t jump into action? 😂 he went back on that podium as fast as he went down it ..” A third person added, “I hope she’s ok!! I don’t care for any of the politicians around her!! But I have empathy for her!”
