On his way to success, Steve Harvey made choices that strained ties with his children. He later passed on the values he’d learned, including the importance of hard work. Inspired by Steve’s example, one turned a college conversation into a nationwide charity effort.
Television host, comedian, and producer Steve Harvey has seven children whose lives are traced through different relationships and family structures. In 2007, he married his third wife, Marjorie Harvey, and brought both sides of the family under one roof.
The children did not immediately embrace the blended family, but Steve didn’t need their approval. In time, they all adjusted to the new family structure, and each has followed an individual path in adulthood. They built careers in business, wellness, fashion, entertainment, and more.

Twins Brandi and Karli
Brandi and Karli Harvey were born in August 1982 during Steve’s first marriage to Marcia Harvey. At the time, Steve was working as an insurance salesman and had no experience in entertainment. He performed stand-up for the first time at age 28, won a $50 prize, and quit his job the next day. This decision led to conflict at home.

“I’m married, I have twins. I’m supposed to provide for them, but I had to take this chance,” Steve said, reflecting on that period. He earned only $3,000 in his first year as a comedian, and his marriage ended in divorce in 1994. His relationship with Brandi and Karli deteriorated during that time.

Broderick Harvey Jr.: From College to a Cause-Driven Business
Broderick Harvey Jr. was born in April 1991 to Steve and his first wife, Marcia. He is Steve’s third child and only son from that marriage. In 2015, Broderick co-founded a footwear company called Steps By Stephens with his college friend Thabiti Stephens.

The two met during their first week at Morehouse College. At the time, their company operated online and out of Atlanta, with plans to open a retail location in Washington, D.C. Their mission included donating 15% of proceeds to feed the homeless in multiple cities across the country.
Broderick credited his father as an influence. “I watched you a lot with the foundation—you gave a lot out of your own pocket to make those camps run,” he told Steve during an interview. “If I’m blessed with this, why not be a blessing toward someone else?”
Their company held a food drive with Howard University, where they expected 10 to 15 volunteers but ended up with 200. That effort fed 2,500 people in the D.C. area. The pair also discussed starting a nonprofit to expand their efforts in local underserved communities.
As Steve introduced Broderick and Thabiti on his show, he expressed his support. “As a dad, nothing makes you happier than seeing your kids embrace the principles that you’ve been teaching them their entire life,” he said.

The comedian also noted at the time that Broderick was using the business to pay for his own college education. While Broderick focused on entrepreneurship and social impact, Steve’s second son explored more creative outlets.

Wynton Harvey: Steve’s Youngest Biological Son
Wynton Brycelon Ali Harvey was born on July 18, 1997, to Steve and his second wife, Mary Shackelford. The couple divorced in 2005 after nine years of marriage. Steve later revealed, “I got married for the wrong reasons. I was tired of being alone. I have to own that. It was me, not her.”
Wynton has maintained a lower profile than some of his siblings. He plays music and has occasionally shared his work online. His social media presence has attracted frequent public attention, particularly due to his strong resemblance to his dad.

Morgan Harvey: The Oldest of Steve’s Adopted Children
In 2007, Steve married Marjorie Harvey, who had three children. Years earlier, they had dated and then drifted apart. According to the “Family Feud” host, it was his longtime bodyguard who reached out to Marjorie, believing she had been the only person who truly made Steve happy.

Their marriage brought together Marjorie’s three children and Steve’s four, forming a blended household of seven. Not all of the children supported the change. Steve told them, “Look, you don’t like it? Deal with it. I don’t need y’all’s permission.” But Marjorie approached it differently.

She understood that most blended families originated from places of brokenness and had to be handled carefully. She told the children that everyone would continue to have access to their biological parents.
Marjorie also encouraged them not to let the past interfere with what was possible going forward. “Now, we’re Mom and Dad to everybody,” she shared.
Marjorie was only 19 when she gave birth to her eldest child, Morgan, on May 14, 1985. In a 2019 Instagram post, she recalled being “scared… completely clueless… but determined not to mess this up.” After marrying Steve, he legally adopted Morgan and her two siblings, and they all took his surname.

His goal was to provide both a creative and professional support system. The brand emphasized diversity, spirituality, and empowerment as part of its identity.
Jason described the company as a creative house that uplifts emerging talent in the fashion industry and builds visibility for Black and Brown designers. He also expressed plans to expand Worldly through community partnerships and mentorship.

Lori: The Youngest of Steve’s Seven Children
Lori Harvey, the youngest of Marjorie’s three children, was born on January 13, 1997. Lori began modeling in 2015. She has worked with several major fashion brands, including Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, and Michael Kors.
Her presence in the fashion industry quickly grew, leading to appearances on runways and campaigns. In addition to modeling, Lori launched her own skincare line, SKN by LH. The brand is marketed as suitable for all skin types and promotes cruelty-free and vegan practices.
Across different households and life stages, Steve’s seven children have each built identities beyond their shared last name. Together, they form a family shaped by structure, inclusion, and individual purpose.
