Joe Biden Makes First Public Appearance Since Revealing Cancer Diagnosis

The politician made a public appearance this week. While some people were glad to see him, others claimed the person in the pictures was someone else.

Joe Biden visited The Woodland restaurant with his family on May 22, 2025. Photos shared on the restaurant’s Instagram page showed him standing with the group and smiling for the camera.

The Instagram post included a caption praising the former US President’s demeanor during the visit. It read, “He was so gracious and thoughtful in conversations with staff and guests. […] We very much enjoyed such decency and humility from our President. You made our evening very special.”

The special dinner came at a joyful time for Biden and his family. He was in town to honor his grandson, Robert “Hunter” Biden II, who had just graduated from Salisbury School in Connecticut.

That same day, Biden was seen at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. A video showed him walking through the terminal, greeting people who applauded as he passed. He also saluted a law enforcement officer and shook his hand.

Not long after his airport visit, reactions began surfacing online, with some questioning the man’s identity. “Probably his double,” one person commented, while another wrote, “It’s not him.” “Doesn’t look like him, probably isn’t,” added another.

The skepticism did not stop there, as more remarks poured in across social media. One person asked, “Is that a stand in? Does not look like him.” Another exclaimed, “The clone!” A separate comment read, “That picture doesn’t do wonders for him. Looks like he is ready to fall.”

Amid the doubts, others offered kind words. “He looks wonderful here. I’m praying for a miracle for this great man and his family,” one person shared, while another added, “He looks great.”

This marked Biden’s first public outing since his spokesperson shared that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. A statement from his office on May 18, 2025, shared that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer after an exam for worsening urinary symptoms.

The cancer, which has spread to the bone, was found to be aggressive but hormone-sensitive. Biden and his family are now reviewing treatment options with his doctors.

As news of his diagnosis settled in, Biden turned to social media the following day. He posted a photo with his wife and shared a brief note, recognizing how deeply cancer affects countless families. In his message, the Pennsylvania native spoke of the emotional toll the illness brings and acknowledged the support that had surrounded them during this time.

His post drew a wave of heartfelt reactions. “Prayers for you always but especially now. Stay strong sir [sic],” wrote one person. Another added, “What a wonderful, unselfish message! You are both so special! May you be blessed with many more years together!”

Expressions of hope and compassion continued to pour in. “Prayers for healing and strength, President Biden,” someone wrote, adding, “All the love, support and compassion you have conveyed throughout your life, is blessed upon you and your family. God bless [sic].”

Others noted the emotional weight of the moment. “She looks very worried [sic] bless her heart,” one individual remarked. Another reflected, “The lord is faithful. That smile means alot [sic].” Supporters also added notes like “Get well soon.”

One commenter shared a personal story involving a loved one with prostate cancer, recalling the pain experienced by both the patient and their family. Messages of encouragement, empathy, and care continued to fill the comment section.

The emotional responses from supporters stood in sharp contrast to a wave of criticism stirred by a high-profile political figure. Shortly after Biden’s statement, Donald Trump Jr. took to X, reposting a message from Dr. Steven Quay and attached his own reaction.

Dr. Quay claimed, “Prostate cancer is the easiest cancer to diagnose when it first starts and to watch it progress to bone metastases,” adding that even in aggressive cases, “it is a 5–7 year journey without treatment before it becomes metastatic.”

He also alleged, “It would be malpractice for this patient to show up and be first diagnosed with metastatic disease in May 2025.” The doctor ended his post by questioning the timing, “It is highly likely he was carrying a diagnosis of prostate cancer throughout his White House tenure and the American people were uninformed.”

Trump Jr. amplified the post by writing, “What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???” His words sparked backlash, with many viewing the comments as insensitive and inappropriate.
