Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt’s Daughter, Shiloh, Debuts New Moniker – Details

Shiloh Jolie made a rare appearance at a star-studded event in Los Angeles last week — but it wasn’t her choreography or famous parents that sparked attention. It was the name she chose to go by.

Shiloh Jolie, the daughter of Hollywood icons Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, made a striking public appearance last Thursday in Los Angeles. The 19-year-old attended a celebratory dinner for French designer Isabel Marant’s capsule collection launch with Net-A-Porter.

But this wasn’t just another red carpet moment. It marked a personal and professional evolution for Shiloh — and the debut of a new identity. At the stylish soirée, Shiloh wasn’t merely mingling among the fashion crowd. She played a pivotal creative role, choreographing a performance that blended dance and live music.

The performance accompanied singer-songwriter Luella’s live rendition of her single “Naïve” and featured dancers Keoni Rose and Tako Suzuki. According to a press release obtained by Page Six, Shiloh received formal credit as the choreographer. However, the name listed wasn’t the one the public has long known.

She was credited as “Shi Joli.” Her name change was more than symbolic. It marked a personal turning point, underscoring her growing independence.

The first name is a creative twist on her birth name and the second pays tribute to her mother, Jolie. The public quickly noticed that she had dropped “Pitt,” her father’s last name but this change isn’t entirely new.

In May 2024, on her 18th birthday, Shiloh formally requested to remove “Pitt” from her name. Three months later, in August, a judge approved the change, legally transforming Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt into Shiloh Nouvel Jolie. But what stood out most was how she went about it.

Shiloh reportedly handled the process entirely on her own. According to reports, she hired a lawyer and covered the expenses herself, her mother was not involved.

In July, attorney Peter Levine issued a statement that offered more context. He described Shiloh’s name change as an independent and significant decision following painful events. While the attorney did not elaborate on those events, the comment hinted at the emotional weight behind the choice.

This wasn’t an isolated move within the Jolie-Pitt family. Shiloh joins other siblings who have also distanced themselves from the “Pitt” surname following the former couple’s drawn-out separation.

Pitt and Jolie’s divorce, finalized in December 2024, followed eight years of legal battles. The family’s public journey through custody disputes and media scrutiny added layers of complexity to what was already a deeply personal chapter for the children.

Despite the challenges her family has gone through, Shiloh is making a name for herself in Los Angeles dance circles. Her journey has not been one of casual interest but of serious commitment and growth — something her longtime mentor has seen firsthand.

In June 2024, acclaimed choreographer Kolanie Marks shared insights into Shiloh’s progress with People. Marks, a respected L.A.-based dancer known for his work with Mindless Behavior, Marques Houston, and major brands like Nike, spoke candidly about the teenager’s drive.

“She’s someone that I’ve worked with for a couple of years now,” he said, reflecting on their early sessions at the renowned Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles. It was there that Shiloh began transforming from a quiet newcomer into a confident and dedicated performer.

Inside the studio, there are no headlines — just the music and the movement. That’s the environment Marks has worked to maintain in his sessions with Shiloh. Despite her high-profile background, Marks treats her like any other dancer, focusing solely on the craft.

In his interview with People, Marks made it clear that Shiloh’s celebrity lineage is not a topic in their sessions. “That’s something I don’t talk to her about,” he said. “I keep it very strictly based off of what we focus on, which is the dancing.”

Marks emphasized that Shiloh’s evolution is rooted in discipline — showing up consistently, taking feedback, and pushing herself beyond comfort. Her recent choreographic debut at the Isabel Marant x Net-A-Porter event appears to be the result of that steady effort.
