George Clooney Shares Rare Update on His Children, Gushes About His Wife

The “Ocean’s Twelve” star shared the insights while attending the Tony Awards this past Sunday alongside his wife, where he was nominated for his Broadway debut role.

George Clooney attended the 78th Annual Tony Awards on the evening of June 8, alongside his wife, Amal Clooney. The couple was dressed to the nines as they walked the red carpet hand-in-hand.

George kept it classic in a sharp black tuxedo with a white dress shirt and black bow tie. Beside him, Amal donned an off-shoulder white gown adorned with intricate pearl beading, completing the ensemble with white pointed-toe heels and a matching clutch.

The pair share eight-year-old twins Ella and Alexander, and ahead of the ceremony, George offered a glimpse into surprisingly limited knowledge of pop culture.

“They want to see Taylor Swift. The funniest part is that they have no idea of references. Robert DeNiro will be at the house and they’re like ‘Who’s that?’ They don’t care,” he told E! News.

The youngsters are, however, fans of Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande and can’t wait to see the pair reunite in “Wicked: For Good.” “They’re looking forward to the second part,” he said.

George also praised Amal, who has helped him navigate and balance his home life with his career.

“I have this incredible partner who I couldn’t be more proud of. She’s the bravest human being I’ve ever met in my life. I am deeply proud of her and the fact that she’s in any way proud of me, if just, I can’t believe how lucky I am,” he gushed.

At the prestigious event, he was nominated for Best Lead Actor in a Play for his role in the Broadway adaptation of his 2005 film, “Good Night, and Good Luck.” The production was showcased from March 12 to June 8.

George had his final performance in the play—which received five nominations in total, including his—just hours before attending the Tonys. At the end of the night, he walked away with the Tony award for Best Lead Actor in a Play.
