And while the occasion should have been marked by a proud mother’s cheers, it instead unfolded under the heavy shadow of grief โ and deep, unwavering love.

According to the GoFundMe page, in addition to leaving behind her two sons, Saavedra is also survived by her two sisters, brother, and mother.
